School Renovation
A renovated school equipped with modern facilities.
The Conseil Général [1] decides to renovate the Collège Jean Moulin and building work begins in June 2002.
A complex renovation and building project is initiated with the presence of school users on site.
The former “École Normale” building
is renovated and becomes part of the school infrastructure. The building is opened in February 2004 and contains:
- The School Library with computer network on two floors
- The self-service restaurant (capacity 350 pupils).
- Two music rooms fully equipped with computer network and individual rehearsal boxes
- A multimedia room equipped with 24 networked computers, an ACTIVstudio interactive whiteboard, a video projector and fully-integrated sound system with Audigy 4 external sound cards, a 16 track digital mixing console with full amplification and wall-mounted loudspeakers
- An audio-visual room dedicated to processing sound and the moving image
- Seven personalised classrooms for pupils in “Sixième” [2], with lockers for each pupil.
A Science Building
A new Science building was built and came into service in February 2004. it contains:
- on the ground floor: workrooms and computer room for Groupe d’Enseignement Spécifique pupils [3]
- On the first floor: two Technology rooms equipped with computers and a shared equipment room
- On the second floor: three laboratories and two preparation and collection rooms for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The worktops are pre-equipped with computer connections
The Jean Moulin Building
is currently being renovated and will re-open in September 2007 if all goes well. It will be home to:
- History, Geography, Mathematics, Modern and Regional Languages, French and Latin
- an Art and Design studio
- a performance area for Drama
- a Martial Arts Dojo
- a gymnasium with changing rooms
