Have you heard of The Big Challenge?

It’s an English competition : there is a quiz for each year group (6è, 5è, 4è, 3è) comprising 54 questions to test your knowledge in English language, grammar, vocabulary and civilisation. Last year there were 340,000 participants in France!

This year 215 pupils from our school took the [Big] “challenge”. This is a spectacular increase on last time (128 students signed up for the previous edition) and we are delighted with the response! Well done to all and a special thank you to Mrs Couvreur, who coordinates the Big Challenge at Jean Moulin.

The Prize-giving Ceremony

Each pupil who took part will receive a diploma and there will be extra prizes for the best scores in each class and each year group.

The prize-giving ceremony will be held on Wednesday 20th June 2007 in room B33. It will be split into two parts:-

  • 10am-11am pupils in “year 7” (US 6th grade)
  • 11am-12pm pupils in “years 8,9 and 10” (US 7th, 8th and 9th grades)

Given the current warm June temperatures, free refreshments will be available to those participating in the ceremony.

Invitation

Pupils who did the Big Challenge will be receiving an invitation which is to be signed by parents/guardians. Don’t forget to fill it in and get it signed, in particular, the Photographic Authorization form.
