The School Choir sings at a Concert for UNICEF
Théâtre Municipal, Perpignan, 23rd November 2006
We had a superb evening at the Théâtre Municipal in Perpignan on Thursday 23rd November 2006.
The School Choir sang for UNICEF at an extremely enjoyable gathering where four choirs and an actor took to the stage and gave us a show to remember.
Apart from the various songs (Mission Impossible, The Little Drummer Boy, Bahianada...) that were performed by the Choir alone, and with the pupils from the Vertefeuille Primary School, one of the highlights of the evening was the presence of Berkeley Wright, singer, guitarist, composer and showman extraordinaire.
Berkeley and the Choir sang “Many Rivers to Cross” by Jimmy Cliff and “With a Little Help from My Friends” by Joe Cocker, an intense moment of togetherness and musical pleasure where Berkeley’s impassioned singing and flaming guitar threatened to set the house on fire.
We would like to extend our warm thanks to Berkeley who kindly agreed to appear with the Choir and share his art with our students once again [1]
We would also like to thank Jean-Michel Vallot, Music teacher at the Lycée Jean Lurçat in Perpignan, who added his talent to the group of students and teachers who made up the band for the evening’s performance. [2]

With a Little Help from My Friends
The famous song by Joe Cocker (who sang it at the legendary Woodstock concert in 1969). The audience at the Théâtre Municipal was on its feet. Awesome!

[1] Berkeley is no stranger to Jean Moulin School, having previously participated in a joint English-Music workshop at the school. Some of our teachers will also remember two staff dinner dances in 1999 and 2000 where he made our evenings very special...
[2] Not forgetting our Music teachers: Christian Semperé, Maylis Salinas and Albert Fernandez.
